Our Goals
Keep it FAX aims to achieve three objectives annually:
1:
Promote access to education
At this current moment, Keep it FAX works with and supports Kankalay School for Girls. Kankalay is a state school once attended by Mohammed’s mother. Our objective is to provide between 10 scholarships annually per school. This works out at around £65 per year per child at Kankalay. Students are selected based on academic potential and individual case merits, i.e. girls whose parents would traditionally struggle to meet school fees but who show a desire to learn. At the moment we are currently sponsoring 10 girls.
2:
Support to foster families and foster agencies
We also aim to support foster families and foster agencies by organising a number of shipments per year to promote a safe and healthy environment for children in foster care arrangements.
3:
Support to Sierra Leoneans in need
Keep It Fax also engages in traditional collection and distribution of aid, especially during times of crises. We have previously sent supplies and donations during Ebola and during times of flooding. Outside of this, there are a number or orphanages and families we seek to support so we are always happy to accept donations of baby or infant clothing, stationary and children’s books. We have previously partnered with NHS trusts to organise the shipping of medical supplies that are deemed surplus in the UK.
